Case Studies

EVAS Air. Flying with you since 1992.

Fogo Island

EVAS provided air transport service to the residents of Fogo Island and to customers of the Fogo Island Inn who are exploring their passion for the rugged Newfoundland landscape. Fogo Island is known to be one of the four corners of the earth. EVAS, being ideally situated only 25-minutes flying time from Fogo Island and conveniently only 40 minutes flying time from St John’s made us the obvious choice for the customers of Fogo Island Inn, who wanted to get to their destination as soon as possible.

During the period of Ferry Interruptions between Fogo Island and the Mainland, EVAS was the obvious choice for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, to provide air transportation to service this vital link between Fogo Island and the Mainland. EVAS operates the Beechcraft 1900 on these routes with a payload of 2500lbs which makes it the ideal aircraft to accommodate up to 9 passengers and their baggage.

Greenland Charter

Over the last couple of years, EVAS Air has been contracted by many Fishing companies to do International charters to Nuuk, Greenland located between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, east of the Canadian Artic Archipelago.

Greenlandic economy is highly dependent on fishing and its abundant source of minerals.

Even with the ever-changing and challenging climate in Greenland, EVAS Air maintained exceptional on-time performance and reliability of operations and therefore became the obvious choice for the Fishing and Mining companies that requires crucial crew changes.

Providing a service during COVID has its challenges for both these Companies and EVAS Air, as an operator providing the air services. The lack of regular air traffic control staff and the different COVID precautions from country to country, and health authorities' different processing of cases, was a very complex set of parameters to handle, but each one of these operations was planned by EVAS with valuable guidance from the Patient Safety Authorities in Greenland.

It was due to the continued support and dedication of all parties involved that the Greenland missions were accomplished in a safe and timely manner.

Air Ambulance

EVAS has been engaged in the Air Ambulance sector for approximately 25 years. Responding to requests from the Provincial Government and the private sector, to transport critically ill patients from various locations on the island portion of Newfoundland, various locations on the “Big land” Labrador and throughout the Eastern parts of the Mainland Canada . The Beechcraft 1900 is the ideal platform ergonomically suited, commonly known as a “Workhorse” for medevac operations. During the past 25 years, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, EVAS prided itself on its exceptional service in ensuring the safety of its patients.

With the newly modified 1900D Air Ambulance configuration which includes dual stretcher configuration, enhance medical attendant seating, and onsite engineered Powered Patient Loading system designed to minimized manual lifting, EVAS was the obvious choice to provide patient transportation for both Neonatal and Bariatric patients up to 750lbs. The 1900D is an approved COVID-19 transport platform, utilizing an approved ISOPOD unit in which EVAS has safely transported airborne illness patients while keeping flight and medical crew safe.
